Leigh Folk Festival CD
For
the first time, we have produced a compilation CD
as a fundraising project in
support of the Leigh Folk Festival.
Entitled ‘Moonshine, Murder, Mountains & Mudflats’, the CD features
a 20-track
cross-section of the 70+ musical acts performing at this year’s event.
All the
tracks have been generously donated by the artists involved, with the title
referring to some of the themes that emerge from this exceptional batch of
songs.
The selection reflects the wide range and diversity of the festival programme,
ranging from traditional to contemporary sounds, taking in Americana,
psychedelic folk, early music and much more besides.
The acts featured include
high profile names, such as Rachel Unthank & the Winterset,
Mawkin, Kirsty McGee
& Mat Martin and Rachel Harrington,
alongside less established and many local
performers.
